Ntseki relieved with Bafana clean bill of health

Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki has confirmed he has a clean bill of health going into Thursday’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana in Cape Coast.
Ntseki would have been sweating over a few of his players following the withdrawal of Themba Zwane, with the likes of Percy Tau being managed through the last few games by his Belgian side Club Brugge.
But the Bafana boss says there are no issues and he expects to be able to select from the entire squad.
“We are all happy and we are all looking forward. It’s good to have everybody available, and the good news is that there were no major injuries,” Ntseki said.
“All the niggling injuries our medical team could deal with, so we’ve got a clean bill of health, which is a plus for the team going into this match.”
Ntseki also suggested that a point may not be a bad result for his side away from home, despite the fact that Ghana has struggled of late and been decimated by injuries for the tie.
“Yes, it’s a tough one – playing Ghana in Ghana, but if you look at the history of Bafana, we’ve done very well when playing away,” he said.
“This is because we have players who try very hard especially when playing away because they know they can only be their own best supporters; they can only carry out our tactical plan to the latter so that we get maximum points.
“Coming into this one we have a point as of now, and we are looking forward to protecting that point, and if all goes well for us then getting two more points and going home with maximum points will make us very happy and confident going into the Sudan game.
“Our chances of qualifying and winning this group will be made possible if ever we get maximum points against Ghana.”
Bafana will return to South Africa on Friday and host Sudan two days later at the Orlando Stadium.
